The house has been loved for years by family and friends, and is now available for individuals, small groups, or families looking for a comfortable retreat with easy access to the beach.This house was built by a decorated WWII pilot-turned industrial arts teacher in the 1970s. Stout construction makes it a great place to watch winter storms. An open floor plan with vaulted ceiling offers lots of room for watching colorful sunsets, observing birds at the feeders, playing board games, or cooking creative meals in the kitchen. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide an unforgettable panoramic view. King and queen beds in the two spacious upstairs bedrooms, along with a fold-out sofa, provide sleep space for up to 6 people. The downstairs is a complete apartment with a smaller kitchen, bath, and laundry facilities. One queen, one twin, and a queen-sized futon offer sleeping for an additional 4-5 people downstairs. Ideal for two families to share the upper floor and deck for entertainment and then retreat to separate floors for quiet time at night. There's even an eclectic reading library in the downstairs nook. The beachside deck accommodates outdoor entertainment with charcoal BBQ and picnic table (pending). An enclosed dog yard adjoins the house. WiFi/Cable TV/DVD player. Limited parking available. Your stay will connect you with nature. A variety of songbirds, squirrels, chipmunks, and deer are frequent visitors. Native plants are featured in the surrounding gardens. A meandering path through a dunegrass meadow leads directly to the beach. Shops and restaurants of Rockaway Beach are a 20-minute walk away, and the Tillamook jetty is a 2-mile walk to the south.
